Serpent Mythology: The Power and the Secrecy
Used to portray both the harmonising influence and sinister machination of man, the serpent has cultivated a rich history of duality, enlightenment, and secrecy.
Just as Moses lifted the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted.
—JOHN 3:14
Throughout history, the serpent has been used to portray both the harmonising influence of man, and his sinister machination. Considered the very essence of being in Greek Mythology, the serpent is a powerful symbol of knowledge, of spirituality, of secrecy and mystery. Aesculapius (the Greek god of healing) often appeared in the form of a serpent, while Hermes’ caduceus serpent staff was regarded as a symbol of curative force.
In New Testament proclamation, serpents are perceived as three-headed creatures with wings and legs, and as hissing, poisonous beasts, representing the predatory and destructive nature of man. Juxtaposing this depiction is the Old Testament serpent—a three-headed entity illustrating the threefold higher self; soul, love, and wisdom. Here, in 21:5-7, we witness the serpent lifted by Moses to heal the Israelites—a Kundalini of unity and purification, healing all of material tendency and elevating the inner self.
Bridging ancient culture with modernity, the serpent tempts man into introspection, posing the age-old question of ego versus spirituality as humanity’s greatest shackle. In this regard, the profundity of truth lies behind the veil of fifth-dimensional dreaming. Through stimulation of the pineal gland the serpent affords its time, thus compressing a millennia of knowledge to a solitary flicker.
THE COSMIC SERPENT
Vaulted by western ignorance, a fact universal to ancient culture is that an administered spike in N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) temporarily opens the pineal gland, allowing a snake-like internal projection to ascend and offer information with humility and wisdom. However, in our default stasis, we misinterpret the communication as hallucination, preferring to focus on the trickery rather than the mastery. Regardless, philosophical consensus upholds the serpent as an enlightened messenger to the mind. body, and soul, and as a conduit to the inter-dimensional.
Dubbed the God molecule, DMT is an internally generated neurotransmitter that boasts a similar chemical structure to serotonin. Naturally produced in small quantities within the pineal and pituitary sectors of the human brain, DMT uploads data from the subconscious and projects a sequential code to the conscious state. By design, we are naturally unable to create sufficient levels of consciousness-raising DMT due to the degenerative properties of a stomach enzyme called monoamine oxidase (MAO). It is this symbiosis between chemical and enzyme in the body that allows us to function cognitively in the external world. Despite this, comprehension of our internal world often requires tutoring via externally sourced DMT and the calling of the cosmic serpent, as the code that defines existence appears written subliminally in the cosmos.
When we dream of serpents, our journey extends closer to understanding introspective truth. As the mind contains the power to communicate in de-focalised consciousness with the universal collective, so too does it have the innate ability to retrieve bio-molecular information from the subconscious realm. As reality is merely an internal representation of our mind’s whimsy, it stands to reason that with deliverance of the cosmic serpent under DMT expansion, our quest for truth, for the divinity linking being and nothingness, must commence nestled in the bosom of the fifth dimension, our pineal mind.
Assisting us in the quest for truth are two fundamental intrigues:
1) Why do life-creating, knowledge-imparting snakes appear in our visions, myths, and dreams?
2) Is the serpent what unites all disparate philosophy to a raised collective consciousness?
THE DNA SERPENT
”DNA, our essence, is the serpent, two, entwined in helices unity. In the forest, the serpent warns of dangers ahead. In secret society, the serpent is the symbol of power and knowledge. King, all-knowing.”
—JEREMY NARBY
A sufficient amount of evidence exists linking the cosmic serpent with DNA as a solitary, pervasive element. Proffering DNA as master to our vessel, many biologists observe its code as an ancient high biotechnology containing over a hundred trillion times as much information as our most sophisticated storage devices. Taking it a step further is anthropologist Jeremy Narby, who theorises in his book The Cosmic Serpent that life need only exist for one purpose: to accelerate the evolution of DNA’s genetic code, not ours. Due to DNA’s remarkable snake-like similarities in both physical appearance and organic movement, it is represented in symbology by the double helix; the suggestion being that each living organism may in fact be sequenced by the serpent.
DNA is also arranged in the form of a linear, one-dimensional crystal. The four DNA bases are similar to quartz in that they are hexagonal. As each component stacks atop another, they align in the order dictated by the genetic text. Forming a periodic crystal, DNA’s atomic arrangement is analogous with quartz in that it collects an equal amount of photons as it emits. A variation in length of repeat sequences assists in the reception of differing frequencies and constitutes a previously unexamined function for DNA — orator to the human psyche.
Bringing the serpent into the genetic equation, one only need consider the dance of the chromosomes to witness DNA’s deliberate, twisting movement. Charming, in it’s economical efficiency, the chromosome doubles during cell division, assembling in pairs as they migrate toward their respective poles in a sleek, slithering manner. Perhaps the physical embodiment of the Ashaninka Sky Rope (an Amazonian concept linking Heaven and Earth), the serpentine action of the 125 billion miles of DNA in the human body may be the highly sought connection between singular consciousness (Earth) and Christ consciousness (Heaven).
In this light, the biological proposition of DNA not possessing a seperate consciousness seems absurd. If the human brain (the seat of our own consciousness) is as misunderstood as science claims, and is built according to our DNA instruction, and if DNA is the seed of nature, then how could it not be conscious given that our own consciousness is produced by nature. Ask the Amazonian shaman: How, from over 80,000 species of plants in the Greater Amazon, did the ancients know which two which two plants combine to create ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis caapi to produce the DMT, and Psychotria viridis to break down the MAO enzyme that erodes DMT), and he will say, “The serpent leads the way.” In this summation, the shaman is speaking of a higher consciousness DNA.
In our quest for truth, we are at least now petitioning the cosmos with the correct premise: Does DNA exist for the evolution of nature, or does nature exist for the evolution of DNA, and as a logical extension, the serpent.
THE SECRET SERPENT
”Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made.”
—GENESIS 3:1
In the forest, the serpent warns of dangers ahead. In secret society, the serpent is the symbol of power and knowledge. Symbolising the opposing pairings in ancient allegory, the secret of the serpent is a chemical reaction inside the mind known as the Kundalini (a reference to the dormant energy present in every human being). This coiled serpent has been biding time for aeons, awaiting the awakening of the collective soul. Only once the soul assumes authority over its rightful domain (a combination of physical, astral, and mental entities) will the serpent awaken to afford its vitality. Once the Kundalini force is stimulated, the vibratory action of said entities will achieve ultimate ascendency. All negative polarity will be eliminated and replaced with positive energy.
The origin of the serpent in secret society stems from Abraham (the Israelite father of mankind), however, it is in chapter three of the Book of Genesis where the serpent is initially referenced. Intimately associated with the tree of knowledge, it is the serpent’s duality who offers Eve the forbidden fruit, providing her with the choice between good and evil. In this allegory, the serpent represents energy, while the tree represents consciousness. Together, the two entities constitute cosmic power, a notion implicit in the origin of secret society. Furthermore, among certain circles, it is believed that both Abraham (meaning exalted snake) and Hiram of the Freemasons are one and the same, hence the Freemason worship of the symbolic serpent.
Hiram of the Freemasons (a Phoenician king who appears in the bible as an ally of the Israelite kings David and Solomon) was adept in the crafting of precious metals, and more pertinently, stone. Said to have prefabricated a temple both offsite and without implement, Hiram claims in Rabbinical scripture that the construction was erected by the Shamir, a giant serpent that could slice through stone using subsonic frequency. The Shamir is fabled to have escaped its land due to persecution, taking its architectural wisdom to the Holy Land. Here, we witness the manifestation of self-illumination and the esoteric, coupled with architectural symbolism. This is ground zero for modern Freemasonry.
*It must be noted that ancient Inca, Maya, and Olmec cultures all spoke of a serpent-like being who possessed the ability to cut stone.
The etymology of the name Hiram is closely related to Abraham and means exalted head of the people. Both names are paramount to the seeding of the snake cults (Freemasons, Knights Templar, Jesuits, and Ordo Templus Orientis) and their underlying religious beliefs. Sinisterly, Hiram was also believed to be descended from Cain (via Tubal-Cain) who remained the sole survivor of the superior race after the biblical flood. This race was known as the Elohim, which translates to the Serpent People, and is intrinsically linked to sacred Freemason bloodline.
Spanning the Masonic thread, great building works were carried out across early modern Europe, all of which shrouded the secret symbolism of the serpent. As many of these buildings were intended as houses of the holy, it’s conceivable to assume a deep association between Freemasonry and the Catholic Church. The obvious conduit between the two is the Jesuit Order, a sect “expelled like dogs” for thievery of sacred documents from the Catholic Church, who swore to “return like snakes”.
Oft-utilised to portray the harmonising influence of the Christ-nature in man, the serpent’s role is to transmute the basic aspects of humanity to ascendency and infinity. As portrayed in the Freemason logo, when the serpent’s tail is in its mouth, an infinite loop is made. Such a depiction implies the eternity of wisdom, as well as the eternity of eternity. Organically, this notion leads to the occult significance of the serpent, predominantly the divine, the creative, and the universal.
Executing the role of both protagonist and antagonist, the serpent in the occult world embodies duality and the eternal struggle between good and evil, light and darkness, and spirit and matter. In this regard, the heroic represents wisdom, while the villainous represents carnal desire. However, in the void of the unexamined, to those yearning for introspection, for harmonic frequency and enlightenment, the serpent provides a pillar of untapped wisdom aching to be downloaded unto those willing to sacrifice ego in the current stasis, for eternal purity in the next.
